Expertise

Throughout her career, Grace has worked with children and adults across a variety of diagnoses and settings. She has studied psychology, counseling, and has years of experience with children with autism. Currently, Grace specializes in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Early Intervention, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Grace’s main instrument is piano, and she has also studied voice, guitar, and percussion.

Why I Became a Music Therapist

Grace began playing piano when she was 6 years old. She always knew she wanted to pursue a career in music but also had interest in the healthcare field, so when she learned about Music Therapy she pursued it ever since. At NeuroRhythm, she enjoys combining her passion for music with NMT and ABA. Her favorite aspects of being a Music Therapist are watching her clients progress and focusing on their strengths and individualities.

Education

Grace graduated in 2017 from Mercyhurst University with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy, and a minor in Psychology with a concentration in piano. After completing her 6-month internship at NeuroRhythm, Grace received her certification as a Board Certified Music Music (MT-BC) in January 2018 from the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT). She then obtained advanced training and a certificate in Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) from the Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy in February 2018. In December 2019, Grace earned her Master’s degree in Early Intervention with Autism Specialization from the University of Pittsburgh, where she also studied Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
